The 5 Tenets
The Five Tenets of Painless Gardening are:
1. Get the garden to come to you
Raise your garden to a more comfortable working height – like sitting or standing level – with containers. Move it as close to the house as possible.
2. Assign the medium large chores
Use only the finest, lightweight growing medium you can create – packed with nutrient-rich compost. Use compost tea as a periodic booster.
3. Reduce field, expand yield
Produce up to 10X as much in your contained space with a Square-Foot-Garden plan, while shrinking weeding, watering and feeding time.
4. Delegate strain to your tools
Cut stressful physical chores to the bare minimum; when you must perform them, use pain-sparing tools and techniques.
5. Nuture nature
If we step back and allow nature to do its job, giving it only the best conditions and occasional assistance, the garden will do 90% of the work.
The tenets’ acronym is GARDN.
